How to Repair Abrasion section of EP Conveyor Belt?

The EP conveyor belt is crucial in quarry and mine production, underscoring the significance of its service life. Ensuring the conveyor belt operates normally, minimizing wear, and reducing replacement frequency can significantly enhance its efficiency. Typically, the conveyor belt experiences partial longitudinal abrasion on its upper adhesive layer. Considering cost-effectiveness, it's often preferable to partially replace the conveyor belt or use spraying technology to maintain its functionality. You can learn how to repair the belts of mobile conveyor and fixed belt conveyor. Common measures include:

I. Use of Partial Heat Vulcanization Technology

This technique addresses abrasions smaller than the vulcanization equipment plate's working area. For example, partial abrasions at the joint can be treated using heat vulcanization to restore the EP conveyor belt's efficiency. While effective for small-area repairs, this method requires substantial human and material resources and longer processing times.

II. Use of Partial Cold Vulcanization Technology

This method involves blending cold vulcanized rubber in a specific ratio and applying it to the polished abrasion parts. This ensures the conveyor belt's normal transport function. However, cold vulcanization requires a longer curing time, taking 10-24 hours at room temperature. Additionally, the treated surface may not be smooth, affecting the effectiveness of sweepers used for cleaning.

III. Use of Spraying Recovery Technology

Ideal for linked concentrated abrasions, this technique uses special equipment to spray polyurea elastomer. By mixing two liquid materials and applying them under high pressure, the worn surface of the EP conveyor belt is coated to the required thickness based on the abrasion degree. This method offers rapid solidification, elasticity, and a range of thicknesses from millimeters to centimeters. It also provides excellent flexibility, abrasion resistance, anti-aging, and anti-corrosion properties, along with ease of application and high efficiency.
